Cranberry and Cinnamon Relish recipe
A relish is a fruit and vegetable jam that’s both sweet and savory. With both flavors combined, you can serve the versatile relish over toast, grilled meats, or baked scones and muffins.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound onions, sliced
½ pound whole cranberries
½ cup water
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons berry jam
1 cinnamon stick
Directions:
1) Heat oil in a small pot over medium-low. Add onions and cook until extremely soft and caramelized, about 20 minutes, stirring frequently. If onions start to brown, add a pinch of salt and stir well.
2) Add remaining ingredients to pot; bring to a boil over high heat. Simmer 10 minutes, until cranberries have popped and liquid thickens, stirring occasionally.
3) Serve warm or chilled.
